As soon as the snow melts off the turf field at the end of March I'm out there practicing skills and drills, shooting on goal and training. In the off season I'm a three season athlete but there is nothing quite like being out of the turf during the quiet hours of the night under the stars and lights. From the little pellets of turf that I find throughout my car and home to the way the field greets me when I first arrive, I love it all! Soccer is my life. When I play soccer I feel free, and alive pushing my limits. I am a quiet and supportive leader, I inspire others by example shown in my own discipline, practice and hard work. I support others making sure we're planning ahead to line the ball up for a successful move on the field. My peers regarded me as a person who works harder than anybody else and demonstrates leadership through good communication and helping other teammates better their skills. I am a quiet and modest person with a witty sense of humor. I know my own worth, my strengths and what I can offer to a team. I have passion for the sport and it shows. Most importantly, "I love the game of soccer!" I've been playing it since I was four years old. It doesn't matter where I am, I usually have a ball at my feet. On the field, apple orchard, parking lot, campground you'll find me juggling or practicing a new skill. etc. I can't image life without soccer. I am passionate about it and would love the opportunity to play on a varsity team in college. I want to inspire others to play the sport and give back to the community coaching and refereeing soccer youth games.
I am a very hard worker. From the field to the classroom teachers and coaches alike recognize my hard work ethic. I have a 3.9 GPA. I have challenged myself by taking a multitude of AP and honors classes and I am good at balancing academics and sports. I have a passion for the environment and being outdoors. Given my love for the outdoor and environment I want to study civil/environmental engineering in college. I am hard working, focused, dedicated, have good leadership and communication skills and take advantage of opportunities presented to me with strong initiation. I have a sense of humor and a love for the outdoors and feel that I would be an excellent addition to any team. Thank you for taking the time to consider me for your roster.
Sincerely,
Nick Chonko
