Personal Statement
- My name is Michael Abdalla. I am currently a sophomore at Lenox High School. I've been playing on the varsity soccer team since the 9th grade. My freshman season, I recorded 9 goals and 2 assists and I was selected for the All Berkshire 2nd team. My sophomore season, I recorded 20 goals and 2 assists and I was selected for the All-Berkshire 1st team, All Coaches 1st team for Berkshire County, All Southern Berkshire MVP, as well as All Western Mass 1st team for Lenox. I plan on continuing to work hard as I look forward to my goal of playing college soccer.
I've had a passion for soccer ever since I started playing when I was 4 years old. I enjoy volunteering for our town's local youth soccer program. Since I am the oldest of four boys, I tend to be a natural leader and use this skill on and off the field. I have a great relationship with my coaches and respect them immensely. Having a close connection to my teammates is something that I feel strongly about. Trust and respect is essential in growing together as a team.
I am a dedicated, reliable and hardworking soccer player, as an individual, and as a team player. I continuously work at perfecting my ball handling skills. That combined with my calm composure enables me to have a strong and accurate shot on goal. I'm quick on my feet - with or without the ball - and although my right foot is my dominant foot, I’ve trained my left foot to be just as good. I work hard in the off season to stay in the best shape that I can.
I am a high school high honors student and am in all honors level classes. I am a dedicated student and take my school work very seriously. I am disciplined to keep up with my studies, even during the soccer season, in order to excel in my classes.
My college goals include attending a school where I will get a quality education and one that is a good fit for me. I'm looking forward to the athletic and academic challenge that a college has to offer.
