I pursue this game on a religious level on and off the pitch. First and foremost I view myself as a soccer player, but just as importantly I view myself as a scholar of the game. I am someone who has learned about tactics and styles of play as seriously someone my age can. Because of this, I am a versatile player who knows the roles of different positions and can play them well. I understand the vast importance of creating a system that works for the players on the pitch, one that is fluid in the motion of the game while being decisive in the approach and end goal.
I have led an unconventional route of development most players have not taken. I stayed at my local club longer than most of my talent level would have. I took hold of every opportunity to further my game whether that meant training with the high school girls’ team or boys’ team or playing up age groups my entire youth career. I knew that I would continue to grow and most importantly learn about the game best in that environment. Once I decided to leave my local club I played with and eventually captained my local community college team, as most of my high school experience has been in a college setting. For two years I furthered my game in the way that I wanted it to be crafted. In my eyes, playing against older, more mature players was a means to that end. As a junior, I decided it was time to play my own age group to further my development once more.
I am looking for a program that will continue my development in ways only that program can provide me with. I want a coach who I can easily share my ideas, talk, and discuss soccer with. This includes candidly talking soccer in addition to talking about the team and program as a whole. I look for a team that plays intent-based possession intending to push forward by retaining the ball with purpose.
I offer an attitude of utter seriousness about this game, one that is not afraid to work hard. Early in my career, I worked harder than many of my peers to just keep up. Once I caught up, I only continued to pursue my goal to succeed in this game. Not slacking my effort and having an intense passion for the game of soccer pushed me ahead.
I look to perform at the highest level in soccer and the classroom; as a result, I will give everything I have to create a better team and program.
