As a freshmen joining a amazing program that had won 3 straight district finals it mean’t a lot to me to play at a high level.
My sophomore year I got to experience playing at a varsity level and it really boosted my abilities to work hard and learn teamwork, sacrifice and have a good mentality moving forward. However, My sophomore and junior year we lost both of those district finals and I believe that those losses if they had never happened would have never truly boosted my abilities and mentality because they have pushed me to limits I couldn’t imagine possible.
I am grateful I played for the program that Mehlville has because it shaped me into the person I am today and has taught me a lot as a athlete and student of the game. Winning taught me the mentality it takes to win and the hardships and sacrifices needed to be the best. Losing has taught me a lot more than winning because i could identify my vulnerabilities & weaknesses to work on in the future to improve as a player and as a person. I’m looking for a program that is a good fit for me on a athletic and academic level. I believe I have not just the talent to compete for a college team, but the hard work, ethic and ability to transform a program!
