Personal Statement
Going into my sophomore year I was a floater for varsity and JV. During the season I didn't get much playing time but I learned just as much on the bench by asking questions and analyzing the game. This is really where I found out who I was as a player and what my goals were. I was able to get my team to the semifinals of the New Mexico state finals by causing the opposing team to make and error in the quarterfinals. During the semifinals my coach gave me an important decision to make. I could stay where I was on the bench or I could step up and be the right wing he needed. I chose to step up. We did end up losing that game and took 4th in state but, I saw the the potential I had.
I am willing to work hard on and off the field including in the classroom and learn new things about the sport so I can get where I want to be not only as a player, but as a person and student. I would like to one day play professionally. The strengths I have are my speed, passing/crossing, situational awareness, and endurance. I do track when I am in the off season so I can stay in shape build stamina, endurance, and speed.
