Personal Statement
I am mainly a three sport athlete and can adapt to any sports once I give it a try. I do not expect to join a college soccer team and have things handed to me. I will work hard everyday and even push others to work harder. This is a team game and I will not hesitate to make sure everyone is all in and play together, not individually. I am very good at listening to my coaches and doing whatever they tell me to do because they know its right for the team.
I put most of my free time into the game of soccer whether it is training, watching, or studying and I enjoy being challenged on the soccer field. Hard working in school, helps me to successfully apply my time management skills and scheduling every day. My academic record and my community service will show that I have good character and I’m an excellent team player. I played three years of varsity soccer totaling 18 goals and 5 assists. I received the post season All-Conference award in my junior year. As captain in my senior year I received All-County Honorable Mention. I volunteer in the Fall and Spring for the Lynbrook/East Rockaway Top Soccer Program. I help autistic and special needs children to play and enjoy the game of soccer. I am the youngest of three boys, growing up in a multicultural household. My father is Turkish-American and my mom is Italian-American. These cultures have shaped my life. I experienced this first hand as my family and I traveled to Turkey to visit my father’s home. This is where my love for soccer is rooted.
I hope to attend a college that is right for me to play soccer and study Marketing. I will work as hard in the classroom as I do on the field. I know that my Grades and how I learn and work is the most important thing for me during college and my future career.
