Alex Poth '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Alex Poth.  I am currently a Senior at Lexington High School in Lexington, Ohio.  I am 5’ 9” and my primary positions are Defensive Midfielder.  However, I can play any position.  I have six years of club soccer experience, three with Columbus Crew, two with Pennine United, and one with Challenger Crew Juniors.  I have been selected by the Ohio South Olympic Development Program (ODP) U16 State roster for 2013-14 and attended the regional training camp in Rockford, IL.  I’m looking for a college that will fulfill my desire for knowledge in the class room, as well as on the field.  I would like to pursue a career in a criminal justice because I would like to protect and serve my community.  I started playing soccer when I was seven years old.  After two years of playing locally with my friends, my coaches noticed that my perseverance and hard work would one day pay off.   I joined the Columbus Crew Youth Development Club and I was always complimented on my foot skills. I was selected to play for the Columbus Pre-Academy team my freshman year in High School.  While playing club soccer, I have become a leader that places the team before myself and always brings everyone together to play as a team.
