Personal Statement

I have had many accomplishments in my life, but the greatest is overcoming my health issues including a stroke at birth, being diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy, and open heart surgery in 2017.  I’ve been playing soccer since I could walk at 8 months old.  It has not only been my passion, but my therapy.  I have learned that through perseverance and hard work, I can overcome ANYTHING and I have proved that time and time again.  I play club soccer for the Michigan Wolves Academy team, which is a very competitive, elite program.  We play ten months out of the year with 4 practices a week.  In February of 2020, I was invited to the US Para National Soccer Camp with Coach Sharp.  It was a great learning experience.

I played soccer for Sylvania Northview High School.  It’s a Division 1 Program.  My sophomore year I was awarded 2nd team NLL.  This year, my junior year, I received 1st team NLL,  first team All-District, and 2nd team All State.

For most of my life, I’ve played up an age bracket, competing with kids one or two years older than myself.  I am looking for a college that will help me excel as a competitor as well as a student. I have to work hard for my grades but take great pride in my schoolwork. I believe that I posses the abilities and talent that will allow me to compete on a college level.  Some of my greatest soccer characteristics are my speed, agility, and knowledge of the game.  I believe I have the right work ethic, motivation, and character to make a positive impact on your program!  I am an unselfish, team-first type of player.

I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you more about your program and what I could bring to your team. I’m confident that my passion, dedication and skill set would be a positive addition.
