Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Watson, and I am from Murrysville, PA, which is outside Pittsburgh. I have been playing soccer for about 12 years and really love, and enjoy playing, the game. I am currently a Senior at Franklin Regional High School where I play for my School team, and also play for my Club team Century United East. My main position that I play is CM, but also play some OM. Last year during my Sophomore year I started at Outside Mid for my High School team, and then during this past year I started at Center Mid. I mainly play at CM for my Cup team as well. . During my Junior year I was a captain for my HS team and I was also named all-section.
I feel that one of my best attributes when it comes to soccer is my vision on the field because I am always looking for that next pass, or ball behind the defense to give my team the best chance to score. I feel I am also good at taking headers in traffic, and take all the corner kicks, as well as some free kicks, on my team. I am a very hard working player on and off the field. Something I really enjoy doing during my free time is to just go outside and practice to try and make myself the best player I can be. I am also very coachable because I really listen to what my coaches have to say and I always ask them for any advise they can give me. I feel I am also a leader on both my school team and Cup team, whether it's during a game or just during practice. I'm very talkative on the field and I always try to do what I can for my teammates. I really want to play soccer in college because I want to continue to play the game while also getting a good education.
I'm open to all schools (Dl, Dll, or Dll), but I want to go somewhere where I can really be an important player to help my team be competitive and succeed, while also getting a good education. I'm still not sure exactly what I want to do yet for my field of study, but my favorite two subjects in school are math and science. I am a good student in school. I understand the value of a good education and want to attend a college where I will achieve that and prepare myself for for a career beyond school.
