“I never dreamed about success, I worked for it”, this is a quote by Estee Lauder, that my older brother lives by it. For many years, this quote sounded cliché until this past soccer season. I saw it from a different angle. Often, I thought, what does Messi or Ronaldo think or inspire them every day to play the game they love? I concluded that, just maybe, they used this same quote. Dreaming is not enough to accomplish my goals; I would rather work to succeed in life. As a junior in high school, I’m working on my physical and mental conditioning because I want to succeed in the game I love and in life. Although I have not played in a high school team before; I have played soccer for as long as I can remember with the occasional off seasons because of family circumstances. My dream is to play for a soccer team that values my skills and what I can bring to the team. I may not be the top player, but I am a coachable player who is eager to learn and to better myself. My previous coach can say that he could count on me at all times and that I always placed my team first. Finally, what I hope to have gained from playing in a team or just life is to try hard to be effective in the world I live in. I hope to have integrity in my work ethic and in life.
