Self reliance, resilience, versatility, and ability to stay calm under pressure are my best attributes. These traits have been instrumental to my success on and off the field. My name is Max Yoon, and I am proud to be a student athlete at Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia.
At school, I challenge myself by taking the most rigorous honors and AP level courses. Intellectually, I take pride in trying to solve complex and challenging math problems without help from solution manuals or teachers. Outside of school, I am an accomplished pianist who has won multiple international piano competitions culminating in performances at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
On the field, I exhibit ambipedal skills, versatility and a high soccer IQ. I play with a continuous improvement mindset and can play in multiple formations and positions easily. While I primarily play fullback, my versatility and soccer IQ also shine when I play winger or center midfielder with equal level of technical skill and acumen. My current team is the 2008 Boys Potomac ECNL team, and I have been playing at the ECNL level for the past three seasons. I was also selected to the Virginia State ODP team roster in 2022 and 2023.
As an ambitious student athlete, I would love to contribute to the success of a competitive college soccer program and to fuel my intellectual curiosity in a well-regarded academic institution with a strong mathematics and/or computer science department.
