As a sophomore in high school, I have not been playing as long as some of my peers. I started playing soccer in middle school, and have had to put forth a greater amount of effort in the past few years to get my skills up to par with my teammates. When I made junior varsity as an eighth grader I knew my hard work had been paying off. My time on the junior varsity team taught me that not everything goes according to plan, I had been training to be a striker or midfielder but the coach thought I was a defender. I had to be patient and work a lot harder to show him that I could play that position but I had what it took to play midfield or striker. From there on out I have strived to make every opportunity count.
I have been very fortunate to have been/ and our on teams that have pushed me to be better at my position. I believe that I have what it takes academically in college but also the talent to play at college level. I know with my work ethic, leadership skills, and dedication I can make an impact were ever I go.
