Personal Statement
I have been swimming competitively since I was 6, and I have always loved it. I started my swimming career at the La Grange Field Club and shortly after starting there, I also started swimming with Lyons Swim Club.
While on the team at the La Grange Field Club, I have won 4 MVP awards and have been on the conference championship team for 8 consecutive years. At Lyons Swim Club I have won 2 most dedicated awards and 1 high point award. My goals for college swimming include going a 50.5 by my senior year in the 100 backstroke, a 46.0 in the 100 free and a 20.5 in the 50 free; I hope to achieve these goals through hard work, dedication and most importantly, doing what I love.
Something that helps me to stand out from other recruits is that my high school coach, Scott Walker, is not just a coach for the team. Coach Walker has taught me that its not always about you, and that for the majority of the time, its about the team as a whole. Coach Walker has taught me not only how to have a good technique, but also how to love the sport of swimming and be the best teammate I can be.
