My name is Warren Kadin Rayford. I started swimming before the age of one. Through swimming, I have learned that if you wan't to succeed in something, you have to put in constant work to achieve your goals. Through dedication and time management, I have learned to manage swimming and academics. I am currently a straight A student.
One obstacle I have had to overcome is my height. At 5'4, I am usually one of the shortest in the race. I have learned to counteract this by working on the technical aspects of swimming: faster and longer underwater, quicker flip turns, quicker off my starts, and training my legs more so that I can have a farther push off on my start. This fact coupled with my drive to succeed has allowed me to stay competitive in the sport.
When it comes to swimming, I think the most important characteristic is your mentality while practicing. no matter what the set, you have to think about how you can better yourself and less about how to make the set with the most stamina as possible. This is a quality that I have.
Thank you for reading my profile.
