I am an active cadet in the US Naval Sea Cadets as well as a Boy Scout working towards earning my Eagle Award by the end of the year. I started club swimming last summer and although I have always been physically active, I discovered quickly that I excel in the water.
I am drawn to the Naval Sea Cadets because of their emphasis on leadership, teamwork, and discipline. I have learned a great deal about myself and the importance of service to others through my involvement in this organization as well as family values. I have also had the opportunity to participate in a variety of challenging and rewarding activities, such as sailing, shooting sports, running, swimming, and drill.
In Boy Scouts, I have learned the importance of community service, respect for the environment, and personal responsibility. I have also had the opportunity to develop my leadership skills through my involvement in various leadership positions, such as senior patrol leader.
My recent experience with club swimming has shown me that I have a natural talent for the sport. I am a hard worker and I am always willing to put in the extra effort to improve my skills. I am also a team player and I am always willing to help my teammates succeed and put others before myself.
I believe that my experiences in the Naval Sea Cadets, Boy Scouts, and club swimming have prepared me well for a college swimming career. I am confident that I have the leadership skills, teamwork skills, and physical fitness necessary to succeed in this challenging sport.
My ultimate goal is to help serve our country as part of the armed forces. I believe that my strong work ethic, dedication to service, and commitment to excellence would make me a valuable asset in the future.
