Personal Statement
HI, my name is Jake Gray. I'm 6 feet tall and I weigh 145 pounds. I will be starting my junior year swimming for the Belleville High School men's varsity swim team. I mainly swim distance free, but I'm pretty good at all four strokes. Some of my fastest times include: 50 freestyle, which is a 22.13, my 100 freestyle which is a 48.67, my 200 freestyle is a 1:46.18, and my 500 freestyle is a 5:06.59. I need some work on all of my strokes to reach my personal goals, and I am not only willing to put in the effort to achieve these goals, but I'm willing to shoot over my pre-set limits to greater succeed in swimming and go faster than I would have hoped. I have a good drive and I work extremely hard, I go to all the practices even if they're not mandatory, and I was always swim extra yards after practice is done. I can offer your team a positive attitude and a good seriousness when the time is right. In my swimming career so far I have competed in The MISCA State Championships, the Division II state meet, and the USA swimming 14 & under long coarse Michigan state championships. I'm looking to attend a large university to study mechanical engineering or marine biology, and swim all four years on the varsity team. Thank you taking the time to read this message.
