Cal Cerny '17 Recruiting Profile

First off, thank you for taking the time to review my profile.  Unlike a lot of swimmers my age, I just started training for competitive swimming year round starting with this past spring and summer.  I had the privilege of playing multiple sports in Middle School and my freshman year of High School, and I really enjoyed the experience of competing and learning a lot of different sports.  Swimming has always been part of my athletic life, but, in this past year, I have truly found my passion in competitive swimming. 

I do realize that there are better swimmers out there currently in my age group, but what sets me apart is that I have the build, size, passion, and athleticism to improve 3 to 5 seconds per year, every year, well into my 20’s.  I am currently ranked 10th in my class for the state of Michigan, but I know that my current stroke, training, starts, and turns are not the best.  I have a ton of improvement that I plan to accomplish in Motor City Aquatics and high school, and I also know that to improve to the level I know I am capable of will take me well into college. I know I have the potential to be one of the very best, and I am looking for that program that can work with me to bring out the best in me for years to come.
