Hi, Coaches!  My name is Jared Gallegos.  I have been swimming as part of my local USA Swimming club, Team Suffolk, since I was 8 years old.  Swimming has always been an important and constructive part of my life, teaching me many lessons, such as self-discipline, commitment, sacrifice, leadership, and respect for others.  In my swim career, I have learned to overcome challenges and to push myself to achieve despite many obstacles.  These lessons have translated into my academic life by helping me build a track record of success and intellectual growth in the classroom.  My goal for my educational future is to find a college that will allow me to continue to cultivate my intellectual interests at a high level while also providing me with the opportunity to continue to grow as a swimmer so that I can contribute to the success of that college’s swim program.  I am very much looking forward to continuing to refine myself intellectually and physically at the next level.
