Hello, my name is John Nguyen and I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At six years old, my mom put me into the sport to teach me how to swim. Months later, after discovering I had a talent for the sport, she decided to keep me on the club team. As the years progressed, my love for the sport grew and my hard work started to pay off. Fast forward to today, I am a sophomore at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, striving for the keys to success and an aspiring future.
To have a better path to life, I aim to set myself up for success, to be able to push my limits and to become a better individual physically, mentally, and spiritually. I would be a great candidate for your team because I am a great motivator and prove to be a beneficial team sport. What makes me different from other recruits in character is that I can socialize with my teammates in numerous ways, whether it's to make them laugh or push them past their unknown limits. I am different in athletics than other recruits in the way I display hard work. I attend club practices at least 5 times a week, which lasts 2 hours. Outside of club practices, I work out at the gym at least 3 times a week for an hour and a half. Depending on how busy my schedule is, I would do a personalized swim practice after my workout. Academic-wise, I am taking 3 Honors classes, along with 2 AP classes this year, displaying how I can balance academics with athletics. By striving to achieve the aspects of a great character, a well-rounded athlete, and an academic scholar, I can achieve many milestones and improve the environment around me, whether it's time with classmates or doing a swim practice with fellow swimmers.
