I believe I have the needed qualities and qualifications to fit well in any premier athletic and academic program. I like to set the bar high and work hard to achieve and surpass my goals, and I have a record doing that during Middle School as I am transitioning to my freshmen year in high school. I have a number of academic and athletic objectives and aspirations. On the academic side, I want to achieve and remain in dean's list and summa cum lade GPA throughout my college career, and pursue graduate or doctoral studies after college. I would like to study engineering (most likely computer or robotics), and find ways on how to positively impact the world, our people, our planet, and our environment as a whole. On the athletics side, my dream is to get a title with my college team, and hopefully make the national swimming team and qualify for an Olympics competition one day. I believe I am top candidate for your program because of my unique journey and profile. I have a very high work ethic, demonstrate the desire to learn and grow every day, I push myself to improve and achieve higher than average athletic and academic goals, I am a team player, try to be a leader by example, I bring a multicultural background, I have been a dual sport athlete and I am capable of balancing very well two demanding sports (running and swimming) as well as a very demanding academic workload (including math Olympiads, debate clubs, programming clubs etc.). Finally, after being on a waiting list for over 6 years, I am extremely excited getting accepted in Merrol Hyde Magnet High School (one of the top high schools in the nation and the second top in the state of TN) and start as a Freshmen in their program as I embark to college preparation. The high school has a premiere reputation preparing students to succeed in college through their unique and demanding curriculum, the culture of excellence, and their methodology in developing leaders. I also have a biracial background (father Greek, mother African American), I am bilingual in English and Greek (fluent writing and speaking in Modern Greek, will be taking two introductory college level courses in Chinese throughout my high school career) and have travelled around the world, learning about diversity, and the different cultures in other countries. Last but not least. I have been fortunate to be part of a premiere swimming club, Excel Aquatics, and have coaches that have a valuable experience in swimming and coaching (i.e. varsity coach is also a coach of Open Water for the Southeastern Swimming Club, head coach of club had years of success swimming and coaching). I also had the opportunity to attend Indiana's Swimming Camp and get instruction from Olympians and top college coaches on where I need to improve, build a skill in adequately assessing my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in my future journey as a swimmer and an athlete.
