Personal Statement
I have always pushed myself to compete at the highest level of competition available to me. Growing up in Texas has given me the opportunity to swim against some of the greatest talent in the country, while also being academically challenged.
Growing up in a family of 7 has taught me to work very hard. I have had three sisters who have gone through the process of high school and college and set the bar very high, so I take it as a personal challenge to be as good or better than they were.
For the next four years of my life, I want to attend a University where I can be challenged in both swimming and academics. For the past four years, I have balanced taking college-level classes with my rigorous swimming schedule, as well as varsity choir and a youth leadership position at my church. Although some days can be hard, it always pays off to get the work done and know I've done my best.
I look forward to the opportunity of furthering my swimming career in college, pursuing my goals of NCAA and Olympic Trials cuts, and helping my team win conference championships. I want to find a university where I can not only fulfil these goals, but succeed academically as well, growing as a swimmer and a productive member of society.
