Personal Statement
I believe that I am a great candidate to be recruited because I am very dedicated to what I do and what I want to achieve, not just in life but in all aspects of it, mostly academics and sports. I am a hard working person who does not give up. I follow directions very easily and can get along with those around me. I have been swimming since I was seven years old and I have not taken a single year off. I started off by swimming in the summer league, which is sponsored by the AAU. During the summer league, I swam in the Toppenish Invite multiple times and I have yet to miss a championship swim meet. Throughout my summer league career won the High Point award in the Toppenish Invite, from my team, and in the championship meet many times in my specific age division. I have been on the Prosser High School Boys Swim Team all throughout my high school career (Freshman year, Sophomore year, Junior year, Senior year). So far, I have made it to state all three years, swimming in the state swim meet at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA. Swimming in college has always been one of my major dreams in life. That is why I work very hard each and every day to fulfill my dream of swimming in college.
I don't only just swim, I'm involved in other sports as well, such as football and track. In football I play wide-receiver and defensive back, and I started on varsity my junior year. In Prosser, football in the most known sport because we have reached the playoffs countless times and we have won many state championship games. The years I was involved in football we made it to the State semi-finals each year. That's because with our football program we must be overly dedicated and we put in the time to get the results that we want to conquer. Every summer we will have lifting sessions and a running test to excel in our physical capability. Overall, I think that football helped me prepare for swimming. My senior year I made all league as Cornerback. In track, I am a sprinter and I also do the high jump. With all of the running workouts, it helped me build up endurance. So as you can see, I am involved in sports year round, and I try to get in the pool as much as I can.
For my academics, I plan to finish year strong, and finally graduate from Prosser High School in June 2015 with my diploma. My dream after high school is to go to a four year college and swim for them and major in the health and medical field. At the end of it all, I want to go to a med. school and work my way to either becoming a doctor or a sports physician/physical therapist. If that fails, I would like to major in history and become a history teacher.
