Hello Coaches, and thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. My name is Adam Nelson. I am currently a junior at Sullivan North High School in Kingsport, Tennessee. My goal is to play tennis at the college level and I look forward to working hard to achieve this goal. Currently, my GPA is 3.875. I will be taking the ACT this spring. I am a member of Sullivan North’s Honor Society, as academics are highly important to me.
I am dedicated to the game of tennis and spend many hours on the court, even when there is no team practice. I am always striving to improve my game. My leadership skills have been noticed by my tennis coach and therefore he has named me a Team Captain. This is an honor, as I see how important leadership and mentoring is to creating a cohesive team. Last season, my coach also selected me as MVP of the team. Personal fitness is also highly important to me as it helps to enhance my tennis game. To keep in shape off of the court, I enjoy weight lifting and working out regularly. I also enjoy running cross country. This year, my high school cross country team made it to the state competition which was an exciting accomplishment for our team.
I would like to attend a college that has a great atmosphere where I can find balance between the classroom and the court. I am the person that you are looking for to join your team. I am a self -sufficient, reliable, respectful, trustworthy, and dedicated student athlete. These attributes allow me to lead by example. Whether in the classroom or on the tennis court, I strive to stay focused on the task at hand.
Again, thank you for your time. I am excited to learn more information about your program!
