Personal Statement
As a sprinter, I have learned resiliency, patience and consistency from injury and competition. It is through hard work and dedication, I earned the 2016 All League Championship in 400 meters. In 2017, I ran my first winter meet at Cal Berkeley and qualified for the Winter Championships in Arcadia, California. I placed 18th in the 300m with a time of 36.6, and 23rd in the 60m with a time of 7.23 in just my second meet this year.
My volunteer hours are 180 hours. As a volunteer Junior Leader, I have worked with kids ages 5 to 12. Kids constantly challenge my critical thinking and negotiation skills when conflicts occur. My ability to remain calm and handle conflict without losing my temper has been invaluable in academics and athletics.
I strive for excellence in athletics and academics. My goal is to find the best college fit that allows me to thrive. It would bring me great joy to get a scholarship to play a sport I love while getting a higher education.
