I have always enjoyed moving. Whether it was sprinting, jogging, jumping, or walking. I have always wanted to follow in my fathers footsteps play college sports at a Division 1 level, whether it would be football or track. I've always been an extremely hard worker even when no eyes are on me. My freshman year of track was very successful. I placed 14th at the Iowa State Track and Field Championships in the 400 hurdles, and had the fastest time out of all freshmen in the state, with a 56.23. I also competed in the shuttle hurdle relay with 3 of my teammates. Prior to the state meet, I had started running the 400 hurdles only a month before the meet but improved my time by 5 seconds with the help of my mid-distance coach, George Ashman. Coach Ashman always tells me how coachable I am, and how quickly I pick up on certain tips and techniques. I also have a 3.49 GPA, and work as hard in the classroom as I do on the track and the field.
