Personal Statement

My plan for the future is simple. I aim to serve and add to a cause greater than myself. My collegiate goals are to compete as a mid to long distance runner and prepare myself for a career of service. 

I believe I am a strong candidate for a collegiate team because of my performance on the track  and my character off the track. I am hardworking, determined, and most importantly, I am a teammate who supports others in their achievements.  

Though I played multiple sports as a younger student, I did not find my love for running until the beginning of freshman year when I experienced the camaraderie of the running community. I believe that is what truly inspired me to commit to running.

Apart from athletics, I am also academically successful. To be best prepared for college I am participating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Advanced Placement course work.    

I would love to meet and talk more in depth about the future.

  • My routine consists of 6 days of training, averaging 45 miles per week. Mondays: 6-8 miles of power line hills, adaptable pace. Tuesdays: intense 5-mile workouts, totaling 8-9 miles with warm-up/cool-down. Wednesdays: 5 mile easy run in the woods for recovery. Thursdays: another workout matching Wednesday's mileage. Fridays: rest. Saturdays: longest run with extended workout. Sundays: slow recovery run before Monday's power line hills.

  • My training plan includes about 30 miles each week, with a focus on endurance and speed specific workouts. Monday, Wednesday and Sunday are still easy days. Tuesdays and Thursdays, I work on getting faster through track workouts. Saturdays are still long runs with a workout in between.
