Personal Statement
Cross Country and running in general hold a special place in my heart, for they have given me the best experiences of my high school life. Running has formed and strengthened my character in the form of responsibility, sportsmanship, leadership, confidence, competitiveness, and the urge to improve and better myself in performing under pressure, It has given me special friendships and moments that will last a long time in me. By continuing my running experiences in college, I can expand and extend those moments a little longer than expected.
By running in college I will not only gain more priceless memories and experiences, but I will also make accomplishments and reach goals I can never gain with just high school. I am fully committed to the sports of running, and i will likewise give full commitment and effort to the college team that recruits me. With my athletic talents, I will strive to make accomplishments and reach goals not only for myself, but also for the reputation of the college team that recruits me, whether that be by reaching a certain time or winning a big race.
In addition to my athletic talents, I also have my academic talents and interests to go along with my running abilities. I am specifically interested in going into physics, and specifically astrophysics and cosmology. A combination of running and the study of a space science is in my best interest.
