Personal Statement

Hi Coaches,

For the last 10 years I have played countless hours of travel and Varsity basketball. After my Senior Varsity Basketball Season ended, I began throwing discus. In the last several months, I have trained with my coach and have improved dramatically. At nearly every meet this season I have thrown a new PR, recently throwing 139ft 4in and winning the County Championship. Since a young age I have always dreamed of playing a college sport and I am now more motivated than ever to make this happen. I am 6ft 6in tall and strive for excellence in both the classroom and the circle. Academically, I have an unweighted 4.0, a 34 ACT and hold several leadership positions (including Co-President of my school’s Varsity Model UN competition team and Co-President of my school’s Varsity Quiz Bowl competition team). Additionally, I played on the varsity golf team and received the coaches award for my sophomore season.
