My name is Jacob Fleig, and I run long-distance track and cross country for my high school. I have been running since the fall of my 7th-grade year and have loved the sport since day one. I enjoy running so much because I can run for myself to make myself better while also being able to support my team. I enjoy the science and mechanics of running and I'm always looking for tips from coaches to make my form better to improve my times.
As a sophomore, I am one of the captains who lead the team to be able to accomplish all of our goals. In school, I have begun challenging myself with honors and AP courses this year so I can begin preparing for college and the future. In college, I am looking for a school with a cross country program I can be a part of and more importantly, engineering classes I can take to achieve my goals for finding a career I enjoy. I hope to be able to find a university that can accommodate me while I have the opportunity to run and learn with others as dedicated as me.
