Ever since my freshman year of track and cross country, I knew that I wanted to compete in college for these amazing sports. I participated in all three years of middle school track and cross country, and even then I knew that I had something special. And to be clear, I don't mean that I was good or very fast. I just knew that I had the drive and determination to get better. In a one year time span my personal best in the 1600m has improved by nearly a whole minute. And just within the last track season, I shaved 31 seconds off my 3200m time to go sub-10:00 at the SD State Track Meet. I have put in more and more work for this sport because I love it so much. I have many great characteristics that make me who I am including being coachable, having a high work ethic, determination, high endurance, and most of all, kindness and consideration. I have played soccer for almost my whole life, and I played on the varsity team my freshman year of high school and was the JV captain due, in part, to many of these characteristics. I will always do the right thing and am always willing to help a teammate, help the coaches, and care for myself. I also hold myself to a very high standard in school. I am a 4.00 GPA student, I participate in student council, and I participate in my schools Youth Leadership Training program. Overall, I see myself as a great athlete and student, and I am very dedicated to these sports and the qualities that they have started to bring out in me.
