My goal and aspirations in this senior year of high school are to get good stats for potential offers, make it to New Balance Nationals, and get a school record. I'm a good candidate for a college team because of my dedication, willingness to learn, and speed at which I can absorb new information. My junior year was my first year of trying hurdles. At first, I did them with low expectation; however, I quickly fell in love with the event as I was progressing rapidly.
With freshman year being online due to covid and sophomore year being the first year back, I wasn't able to qualify for many opportunities to go to track meets in general, let alone districts, regionals, etc. However, once I tried hurdles in my junior year, my dedication and helpful coaches led me to states in the 4x200 and regionals in the 55mH during indoor season.
The following season, outdoor, I tried 110mH for the first time and was able to qualify for the state championship and Adidas nationals. My junior year was the first time ever going to these types of high-competition meets, and now that I've gotten some more experience, I'm excited to say that I'm ready to perform with more confidence this senior year and achieve these goals. I'm ready for this track and field season along with this academic road as well, as I'm taking on multiple AP and DE classes along with honors classes as well.
When performing at a collegiate level, I want to become a fast hurdler that still progressing and becoming one of the fastest hurdlers in the country, along with a competitive team and supportive coaches that can push me to strive to be a better version of myself.
