My first experience playing volleyball was my freshman year when I made the high school junior varsity team. As the year continued I became incredibly passionate about the game. During a school tournament, I was approached by the director of Great Lakes Volleyball Center to try out for the team. I knew this was an opportunity to develop as an athlete and a player. During my two years with Sports Performance my skills as a player and teammate sharpened considerably, and as a result, I made the high school varsity team as a sophomore. Heading into my junior year my commitment to becoming an elite volleyball player reached a critical point. I was determined to make the 18 Elite team with Sports Performance as a junior. In order to achieve this goal, I quit playing soccer, a sport I had been playing for nine years. My hard work and dedication paid off, I made the 18 Elite team. It has been an honor to have spent this year training and practicing with some of the best players, and as a result, I know I am capable of playing at a high level of volleyball. I am so proud that I reached that goal, but I know there is still more I can achieve.
I have been fortunate enough to be part of an amazing program, with a long tradition of discipline and excellence. While at Sports Performance Volleyball Center I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership the year I spent as a trainee on the Elite team. I am looking for a school where I would be a great fit academically as well as athletically. I believe I have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, but also the character, work-ethic, and the ability to be the team player it takes to make an impact in your program!
