Luke Shelby '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Luke Shelby and i’m a 16 year old Libero. My dream is to play volleyball in college and to one day become a coach at a higher level. I‘be played volleyball at a competitive level for 5 years now growing in skill and as a person through the game. 

A couple of things set me apart from others on the court. The first thing is my court vision, scanning the opponents to hopefully find an edge and i’ve gotten pretty good at finding weaknesses and tendencies that help my teams win against better opponents. The second thing is my leadership skills and ability to make the players around me better. A third thing is my willingness to dive and put my body on the line to make some pretty impressive ups and my tendency to never give up on a ball, 100% effort until the whistle is blown.

I’ve grown up around athletics and it’s a pretty important thing in my life, it has created this competitiveness around me that makes me want to be the best in everything that i do, I always want to win and never give up. I want to bring that attitude to whatever program i end up going to.
