Trey Phillips '25 Recruiting Profile

Sports has always been a passion of mine since I was able to pick up a ball. I’ve played soccer, baseball, basketball, and tennis. However, it wasn’t until I was in 7th grade that I decided to pursue volleyball at my school. Playing volleyball was the best decision as I realized I had found a sport that would finally be a good fit for me. While playing in middle school, I crossed paths with a coach from Austin Junior Volleyball (AJV) who saw me playing and encouraged me to try out. Since that meeting, I have been a member of AJV and have enjoyed the intense training, tournaments, and overall excitement of the game.

I consider myself to be a strong and consistent player. For my club and high school team, I play libero. With each program, I am dedicated, hard-working, and a leader to my team. I am a player who motivates others, plays with integrity, and gives my all on the court for each match. Volleyball has become my sport of choice, and I would love to have the opportunity to continue playing at the collegiate level.

Outside of volleyball, I am a member of the Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver, a national Catholic service-oriented organization in which I am the Junior Division Texas State President. My primary role is to increase membership, and I also preside over the annual business conferences for approximately 400 junior boys and girls in Texas. In addition, I am a member of my church youth group, where I perform numerous hours of volunteerism for our community. In school, I am a member of the high school orchestra at St. Stephens Episcopal School, where I play six different percussion instruments. The timpani drum is one of my favorites.

As mentioned previously, I am a sports enthusiast. In college, I plan to major in Sport Management with hopes of working in this industry when I graduate.I believe I am a well-rounded student/athlete who will greatly be an asset to any program. I look forward to learning more about my collegiate opportunities and speaking to you personally.
