To put it simply, I outwork everyone on the court. I know that you hear this every day, the kid saying that he will work harder than everyone else because they want to be better than everyone or work harder than everyone else. My difference is that my competitive nature is spurred on by the fact that I have the strongest desire at the core of my being to be the most polished person I can be. It has nothing to do with anyone else on the other side of the court... I want to be the physical best player that my body and mind are capable of being, and I am willing to put in the hours upon hours of work to get there. I used to show up to morning practice with everyone else complaining about having to wake up but I genuinely enjoyed having that extra time to hone my skills and polish myself. I started playing volleyball about a year ago. The rest of my life was spent searching for the sport that fit me, be it Swimming, basketball, baseball, XC, or track. I tried my best in all of them but my true passion was discovered the moment my hand went over the net. It struck a chord in my heart that no other thing ever had before. That is why I am willing to do whatever it takes to be given the opportunity to step out on that court on the collegiate level. I have never failed to rise to the occasion, if that means practicing alone for 6 hours in my driveway or practicing with a team that I love, I will always push myself past my limits for the chance to stand on the court. If that's running a mile further then every other team, or putting in one more hour than every other team, I am willing to do it. I love this sport. My logic is that if you put in the effort to make yourself the best player you can possibly be... then you will never lose, and if for some unfortunate reason you do, then you did something wrong and you need to learn how to fix it. I want to win and rise up to be one of the best teams in the collegiate world. I will do what is necessary to get there.
