Personal Statement
Currently, I am the starting goalie on my high school's varsity team and I am on the varsity swim team. Without a doubt, I have a burning passion for the incredible sport of water polo. I only started training the summer before my freshman year of high school, but I already dream to play in college. In order to make my dream a reality, I have attended multiple water polo camps and I trained with the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Southern Pacific (SOPAC) 10th grade and under team. ODP was a great learning experience since I had the opportunity to train with such advanced players and caring coaches. At one of the camps, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be coached by and even practice with Merrill Moses and JW Krumpholz, members of the US national team.
Not only do I strive to excel athletically, but also academically. I have always done well in school and I plan to continue the trend throughout college as well. With a 4.83 GPA I aspire to make top ten at graduation day. Furthermore I aspire to attend an academically prestigious university. While my sport is very important to me, scholastic growth has its place as my first priority.
In school I am also involved in several clubs and try to give back to my community through volunteering at the local hospital. I have volunteered for two years already and have accumulated well over 100 hours of service. I actually enjoy working there very much and I will continue volunteering until I graduate.
I hope to have the opportunity to participate in the athletics program of a university in which I can be challenged academically.
