Personal Statement
I have been playing softball ever since I was a little girl, instilling in me a real love for the game. Over the years I have developed from that little girl who chased butterflies in the outfield to an experienced softball player. I started playing at the recreational level, transitioned into ASA at 10, and now 3 years as a starter and varsity letter winner in high school. Softball has afforded me so many great opportunities. Besides southern Arizona, I have gotten to play in southern California, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and New York City. It has allowed me to make so many friends, and be mentored by coaches. It's helped me understand what it means to be part of a team, set goals, and be accountable.
My whole life I have wanted to help people; if that means holding the door or helping the special needs kids at my high school. As a result, my career goal is to make people's lives better, and I would like to study psychology with the ultimate goal of opening my own clinic.
I am excited about the idea of college. I see it as another opportunity to experience new places, new people, and new ideas. I want it to be exciting and fulfilling. What I ultimately want is to play the sport I love, get a degree, and prepare for the rest of my life. I hope to be awarded a scholarship for a program that fits for both me and the team, and I am open to many locations in the US.
