• Firecrackers - Redmond 16U went 7-0 to win the tournament defeating SoCal Athletics - Quarles in the Championship Game. I batted lead off the entire tournament, going 7-16 including 2 triples. I also played right field and 2nd base, making 7 put outs or assists on the weekend.

• Team may not be able to participate due to ongoing high school CIF playoffs. UPDATE - Even though we did not have our full team because of CIF Playoffs, we qualified for PGF Platinum out of the 40 team field. I played well in the outfield, and batted 4 for 11 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

• Our team had a good tournament. We played 2 games on Championship Sunday, and ended with a 7-2 record. I had a strong tournament at the plate. Batting in the number 2 spot, I was 10-24 (.416) with 4 doubles, 2 triples and 8 RBIs. I also had 4 walks and only 1 strike out, so my on base percentage was .500 and my slugging percentage was .750. I played mostly in the outfield, threw out a couple girls at home, which is always fun, and made all my plays. On to Champions Cup!

• We went 5-0 in the upper bracket of the 64 team tournament to qualify for PREMIER at the SoCal Qualifier. I hit a RBI double in the Championship Game in route to a 2-1 win!

• Our team finished 5th out of 49 teams, with a record of 8-1. Not bad seeing that we were without our starting SS and 3rd baseman for our last game due to injury. Anyway, I had another strong tournament at the plate. I was 10-24 (.416) batting from the number 2 spot. I scored 12 runs and hit a key 2 out triple in the bottom of the last inning to score the tying run that moved us to the final day of play. I played both left and right field, and made several defensive plays without error.

• Our team was invited to play in this showcase tournament, which is bringing together many of the top 32 teams from across the nation. Pool play is on Friday, October 16, leading into a single elimination tournament on saturday and sunday. My pool play games will be on Field 4, with the following schedule: 8:00 vs. Cal Cruisers; 9:45 vs. Lil Rebels; 1:15 vs. KG Hitters.
