Personal Statement
Every young softball player's dream is to play college softball. Softball is basically my life. I have grown up playing it and have family members who also grew up playing softball or baseball. Needless to say, it is in my blood. To play the sport I love in college will just make it that much better. It has been my dream to play college ball for as long as I remember. I'm very competitive and I feel playing in college will let me embrace that. I want to get a good education and a good career and that's the main objective of going to college, but another one of my college goals is to play softball. I am capable of balancing those two. Academically, I would like to major in the business field, and later pursue a career in that area.
I feel like my coaches would describe me as a team player. I can be put in any position, except pitcher, and know what I'm doing. l am capable of hitting gaps, hitting behind the runners to move them, laying down a bunt, and can also hit for power. Basically, I'm able to execute the little things and do my job in any given situation. This means that they may also describe me as versatile; able to adapt to any position at any time. They would describe me as a good teammate and a person that is always supporting my teammates. I never disrespect my coaches or teammates and never give them attitude. I'm kind to both coaches and teammates and always show good sportsmanship to my opponents. I do what coaches say, go where they want me to go and get the job done!
I'm definitely looking for a coach in college that will push me harder every single day to make me better. I'm looking for a coach that has high expectations for me a one that is very supportive and will help me strive to be the best I can. I am looking for a coach that has a lot of experience and will help me succeed. I'm looking for a program that fits me. What I mean is I am looking for a program that has a style that fits my style. I'm also looking for a program that will allow me to play my first year of college. I'm looking for a program that I can trust with my health and safety and has good trainers. These things will greatly impact my selection process.
