Hi there...my name is Lailoni Evereteze and I'm an athlete but also many other things. I'm a student, social butterfly, and most importantly in my opinion a devoting daughter. I have always been a social person. I love to speak to new people and make new friends. I devote myself to my family because they have always been there for anything and everything for me. I grew up being humble, kind, caring, loving, friendly, and more because of them. I'm a high school student, a senior to be exact. Before I came into Benjamin Franklin Senior High School, I went to a small school for 3 years called Downtown Magnet High School. The school was wonderful and so were the people but it wasn't for me. It wasn't for me because sports wise I wasn't excelling as I needed to. So when the pandemic happened I needed to think really hard on what I myself needed versus what others needed. I always took care of people in a sense where I made sure they knew they weren't alone. I do this not because I'm forced to but because I want to and I was raised that way. So putting others before myself I have done many times but come this time around I had to think of what I wanted/needed. So I had come to the conclusion, "I need to move schools" and so I did. I had many options and they were safe options but I chose Franklin because my dad worked there once and told me all good things about the teachers, students, and the school itself. So I just decided to make a sacrifice and say "Go big or Go home" because I really want to play sports in college. It's barely the beginning but I don't regret it, I love it. Last semester I ended up with a 3.6 GPA. So my overall GPA is at a 3.1, this reflects my dedication and determination towards what's important which also reflects on my focus with sports. Because to me my academics and athletics go hand and hand. When it comes to anything I put my mind to I have proven to myself that I can do it and that I am all in.
