Personal Statement
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Julia Maya. My love for the game of softball first developed at the early age of 6 when I started playing. Since then, I haven't been able to put the ball down. By now, it is impossible to imagine a life without softball. Throughout the years, I have learned to play many positions, to include middle infield, 1st base, catcher, and outfield. Because of this, I believe that my versatility is one of my strongest attributes as a player in addition to being coachable, reliable, and a team player. I feel that I am always open to new ideas that could improve my game and make me a better player. I pride myself on my work ethic, working hard not only on the field, but also in the classroom. I take honors and AP classes in order to challenge myself mentally and further prepare myself for life in college. School is very high on my priority list with softball following close after because to me, one does not exist without the other. I play softball in the hopes of furthering my education and I stay on top of my grades in order to keep playing the sport I love. For me, there would honestly be nothing better than using my talents on the field and in the classroom to help earn my degree and eventually work in the field of Forensics.
