I had an older brother who played multiple sports, with a 5-year difference between us, I was at the field 24/7. I, too, am a multi-sport athlete, playing softball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer since I was 3 years old. I played club soccer for Rush since I was 5 years old and I started my career in competitive club softball at 8 years old, playing up in 10U with a local club. While playing both sports, I was told multiple times that I was spending too much time on one sport or the other and ultimately, I had to make a choice on which traveling team I wanted to pursue year-round. I was also told, "how talented can you be to be able to perform well in both?". I ended up choosing softball because I realized it was my biggest passion utilizing that statement to be my drive to perform well in all things. With my individual goals to play at a high level and perform well academically I knew that I would have to be the one to push myself, to go out and take anywhere from 800-1000 swings a week, at least 200 grounders a week, all outside my weekly team workouts. The early morning lifting/cardio workouts at 5 AM 3-5 days a week. While taking Honors, AP courses, and participating in our schools Symphonic Orchestra as a violinist.
