I aspire to play softball in college, while continuing to achieve high academic success. This aspiration started quite a few years ago when I was having success pitching in travel ball, and it gave me a lot of confidence. I enjoy playing softball very much, especially the team aspect of it, and would love to continue to represent my school after I graduate from high school.
My coaches have told me that I am a natural leader. Currently, I volunteer to give pitching clinics for the girls in the recreational league where I started. It makes me feel good when I see these girls looking up to me, and getting inspired by how I pitch after all my years of hard work. My coaches love the way I cheer for all the girls on the team. To me, I love to bond with my teammates and build them up by positive reinforcement, and lead with a positive attitude and hard work. Training and practicing hard is another way that I like to lead because physical fitness and staying in shape are very important to me.
Over the past year, I've had the privilege of learning from some of the best pitching coaches in the country. Not only did this include video instructions over the Internet, but I traveled to Ohio and Virginia as well, for in-person pitching lessons. Through all this training, I learned several improvements that I can make to take my pitching to another level. I have been working hard on these, and feel that this hard work is now starting to pay off with improved results. My plan is to continue to work extremely hard to improve dramatically every year.
