Hi! My name is Hayley Hardy. I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old. Softball is more than just a game to me, it’s a place to make life-long friends. It also teaches me to push myself when no one else is there to push me.
My parents have taught me to give that extra 10% at all costs no matter what I am doing. My goal every time I step on the field, into a classroom or practice is to give 110%. I want to play at the collegiate level where I can excel even more.
A few years ago, we were at a campground and there was a bounce pillow we were all jumping on. I noticed a younger kid that wanted to get on but wasn't quite sure about it so I went over to help him. After talking to him, he finally got on and was jumping with me. Shortly after, his parents came up to me and said that their son was autistic and didn't connect to many people but clearly had a connection with me. That is when I knew that working with those with special needs would be something I would like to pursue. I also have a passion for horses and wanted to incorporate both. That is why I would like to study business or animal science to help me become an Equine Therapist someday.
