Personal Statement
I prepare myself mentally to compete for every game. I listen to music and think about awesome plays I made in recent games. When I step onto the softball field I become seven foot tall, weigh 250 pounds, and I am solid muscle. I can block out background noise and tune in only to my teammates, umpires, and coaches. I may find myself occasionally hearing a portion of a chant but it only makes me smile as I remain with the composure required to win games.
I work very hard knowing I can always improve. I enjoy working out at a local gym and I spend some time running, roller blading, and biking on a rail trail that runs along my parent's property. I just like to keep busy and continue to improve my strength. I have played many sports including volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, karate, soccer, and softball. Softball has always been my favorite sport and I have been playing travel ball since I was 9 years old.
I can play any position, can bat left or right handed, run bases fast and smart, have a good arm, great fielding skills, and consider myself a great athlete. I practice hard, respect others, and love to compete. I consider myself outgoing and I make friends easily. I am a good teammate and I am very coachable. When I am trying to change the way I am doing something I can feel when I am right or wrong. This makes it easy for me to do exactly what the coach expects of me.
In addition to the skills and personal characteristics, I have a sportsmanlike attitude. I love the game and I do not have to work at being humble. I can mentally handle any game situation and I really do consider my softball team as my family.
Working hard is also how I handle my education. I complete all of my assignments and never put my homework off for a later time. I like to be ahead and be prepared. I am not sure what specialized field I want to study, but I want to have a career in the medical field because I like to help others. My dream is to play college softball and receive a medical degree that will allow me to give back to others.
