My name is Kacey Munson. I am 14 years old, and live in North Platte, NE. My parents are Bill and Lori Munson. They have sacrificed a lot of time practicing with me and driving me to all my practices and games. My parents encourage me to get better and try my hardest. They are very supportive parents with everything I do, and I am so thankful for that. I have 3 siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister. My older sister is Ashley. She has special needs and seizures every day. She has taught me to be strong when things are hard and to love deeply. Her smiling, happy attitude, even on her hardest days, inspires me, and shows me that I can get through anything I face. My oldest brother Avery, is 20 and a sophomore in college. He plays college tennis. He has helped inspire my love of sports. He has made me realize the value of working hard to achieve my sports goals. My other brother, Colby, is 15 years old. We are 14 months apart, and have always been really close. He is always there to hear my thoughts and share advice. We help take care of my older sister together. He has always been drug along to all my softball events, and has been so supportive. I know he always has my back.
I love softball and everything it involves. I love the competition, as I am very competitive. I also enjoy the team atmosphere and all the friends I have made in my years of playing. I have been playing softball since my parents got me into playing at the early age of 4. I am a pitcher, and I really love that. I have a strong mental state when on that rubber. I love playing 2nd base, shortstop, and anywhere actually. Just not catcher. I love helping girls out if they need anything, and I am at home on that field! My characteristics that I find valuable are that I am highly dedicated and work hard, I have a super positive attitude, I am a leader on the field, I am very respectful, and I also feel like I am a very reliable girl.
I am excited about going on to play softball in college to also help progress my education. I am wanting to get a better education to help me get to my dream job of a physical therapist or sports trainer, and who knows, maybe I can even make it to the professional level. Wouldn’t that be a dream come true! I’d also like to be a coach someday. I know in order to get there I have to have a good education. I also like learning new things so I am excited about my upcoming high school years and in college. I am a student with good grades so hopefully I can find a good college in another 4 years.
