Dear Coach(es),
My name is Olivia Packard. I am fourteen years old and I am an 8th grader at Lancaster Elementary School, in Lancaster NH. I am currently an high honors student, and last year in sixth grade I received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. In seventh grade, I recieved anothet Presidental Award for Academy Excellence, Top Performer for Art of Middle School, and Top Performer for STEM of Middle School. My favorite subjects in school are Science and Math. I admire space and want to study Astronomy. I enjoy traveling for softball, spending time with my family, and being with my loved ones. In November of 2022 I attended one national tournament in Fort Lauderdale FL( The Florida Sunshine Classic). The first game my team played in, I pitched. I threw a 14-0 no hitter. I've also played in the Triple Crown Showdown National Tournament in South Carolina, and The Best of the Best National Tournament in Las Vegas, NV.
I love everything about softball as a whole. I have been playing softball since I was seven years old. I began pitching at 9 years old. I currently throw my fastball at 55mph. I also have a change up, screwball, and I am working on my rise ball.
What I find most amazing about softball is that it can give you the opportunity to be put together with amazing players, who are also amazing people. You can form connections with these teammates that will turn into lifelong friendships. These connections not only help you to develop as a player, but can help you grow into a mature and respectful person.
I love pitching because it brings me challenges I know I can beat and makes me mentally stronger. I find that pitching and school both give me a great sense of accomplishment. I like learning new pitches because it challenges me to be better and drives me to work harder. Every strike out gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment because I know how hard I have to work to earn them.
As a student I strive to bring positivity, responsibility, and focus to all that I do. I am dedicated to my studies and am willing to work with my teammates on and off the field. I strive to be a positive role model to others around me. I work hard to be well organized and model to others how to also work hard. I show leadership and a strong work ethic, and am determined to accomplish what I put my mind to. I cheer my teammates on, on and off the field. I understand that being a teammate means supporting my team in good times and hard times.
One of my biggest life goals is to go to a Division One college to play softball. I hope to be part of an amazing program that fosters teamwork, a growth mindset, and is filled with amazing athletes that will become lifelong friends. I am looking for a program that will foster mental growth and athletic growth, but also provide a safe environment to learn and progress.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my introduction. I hope we can connect and talk about what I can offer your program and what your program can offer me.
Sincerely,
Olivia Packard
