Personal Statement
I have played varsity softball since 8th grade and have been the main pitcher for the JV and varsity teams as well as the main pitcher for the various travel softball teams for which I have played. I have also played short stop, 2nd base, and outfield positions. I am a versatile player who will dedicate myself to whatever position is best for the team.
Any softball player, particularly a pitcher, must possess a mental toughness in order to contribute positively to the team’s success. This means that I have to be fierce and competitive and focused for the entire game, remaining calm even in stressful situations. It means that when the team is down or feeling defeated, I can be someone who lifts them up, encourages them, and pushes them to be their best until the last bat of the last inning of every game. Mental toughness means that no matter what happens on the mound, I will not get rattled or emotional but stay strong for my team and our collective attitude of perseverance and dedication.
My current GPA is 4.88. I always make the Head of School Honor Roll, and I am currently at the top of my class. Academics are the most important aspect of my educational career, but I am quite successful at balancing academics and my love for sports. I plan to major in biology or pre-med so that I can pursue a career in the medical field.
