Rachel Tarpley '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing the game of softball since the age of six. Softball isn't a game to me anymore, it's my lifestyle. Softball teaches me valuable life lessons such as leadership, accountability,  positive work ethic, and sisterhood.  My grandfather has been the most influential person that I know.  My "Pawpaw" played a very large role in my life. He and I were inseparable, best friends. Ever since his passing, my love and passion for the game has grown. Its has made me realize you can't take things or people for granted. Another influential person in my life is my mother. She understood the relationship my grandfather and I had and shared the same love for him. She also played Division 1 softball for Middle Tennessee State University on scholarship. She is the reason why I am playing this sport today. While playing softball, It is evident that leadership is a God given talent and strength of mine. I am passionate for the game and also strive for constant improvement and the feeling of victory. A lifelong goal of mine is to play Division 1 softball on scholarship, and to carry on our family legacy.
