Personal Statement

My name is Madison Bryan and I have played softball since I was 5 or 6 years old. started with little league that I knew I loved the game. For as long as I can remember it is all that I have wanted to do. The joy that it brings me and the motivation that it gives me to work hard and to be successful is something makes me strive harder and out past my goals.

I have always been very competitive and push myself to be better than I was the day before. If I want something I push and strive to get it. Being and joining in all sports is what I love from travel ball to cheer, volleyball ,track and field (middle sports) to 4-h/ffa leader keeps me busy and going but my passion is softball. For the longest time I was and have been the smallest one on the team. Every single team I was on I have been on I’m the smallest, shortest. So I had to work harder than the rest to prove myself. And I did, always. People will see me and scoot forward because how tiny I was  but that only made me push hard to show just because I’m small doesn’t mean I can’t be fast or slam one out of here. The more I hear you can’t do this or can’t do that, well I prove wrong can’t is not one thing I will ever live by. My parents since day one have told me if you commit, go all in 100% in everything that you do and your hard work will not go unnoticed. Especially being in a small school it’s easy to stand out. my parents always tell me just because we are a small town and little things get a rise, if you want to be the best and show who you are and what you can do then you rise above and beyond and go after what you what. it’s not a bout spotlight or how many views you gets hard works pays off in the end that will take you farther then being popular for one big hit or one big play. it what you do next that matters And is remembered. once the season is over that’s doesn’t mean I stop training, I practice And learn new things and continue to learn and grow and i each and everything about the sport. I practice with my parents and or alone. or Private coach which I am either learning to pitch and work on my batting. I always have treated a practice and a game as if I was being watched to play college (which is my dream.) You are always supposed to work hard, prove yourself and EARN your spot. My parents always told me a spot is never yours. as quick as it was given it can be taken. To never lose focus to stay earned and keep a spot you strive everyday and work hard as if it is your first time trying to get it. If you don't, there is always a girl waiting right behind you to get the job done.

I strongly believe that attitude is everything. I am always open to suggestion and help to improve my game. If I am not performing as well as I should be  I want to know so I can make the necessary adjustments and improve. I have seen so many talented girls from a team get cut or benched because they think they know it all or have a negative and a ME attitude. Team really means TEAM work and should always no matter what work together. no one is better then anyone. I think that I would be a great asset to any team. I am a hard worker, respectful, I hate to disappoint and I am very competitive and I absolutely love being part of a team. i love the friendships I've made and all the new people i meet and the lessons I have learned from my coaches over the years. There truly is nothing better than softball and the feeling of running onto the field with your teammates. playing for the love of the game. I have loved every second of it all and wouldn't trade any of it.

Playing softball in college has been one of my goals since I was a little girl. I made it my goal. it is my ultimate goal.  i will be starting high school next year and I can’t wait to see what the high school year hold for me. the sport has brought me so much joy. it has molded me into the person that I am today. Hopefully the next few years I am blessed with the opportunity to be able to prove that I would be a great asset to any team. Hopefully coaches notice me, and what I have to offer to their program.

thank you for taking the time to read.
